P. Articelle Priamar Workshops
It consists of permanent crafts stores, located inside the onetime cells of the Priamar Fortress. The idea came to a group of craftsmen, who set up a project to highlight their works and the venue hosting them.
Tourists and locals have the opportunity to take part in the creation of very nice knick-knacks in artist workshops, under the guidance of high-skilled craftsmen.
Glassmakers and potters are the artists who best represent the local crafts showcased in the Priamar fortress. Also the venue where craft stores are located is unique: an imposing military construction built in the mid-16th century by the Republic of Genoa.
Originally it had a dual purpose: to defend and to control Savona, after the great victory achieved against it in 1525. Giuseppe Mazzini was held captive in one of the several cells of the Fortress between 1830 and 1831.
