Towers and Fortresses

Built in 1542 by the Republic of Genoa, Priamar Fortress dominates the historic centre of Savona and is the undisputed symbol of the city. Throughout the centuries it has witnessed many major historical events, serving as a military stronghold and a strategic outpost.

Today the fortress has been converted into a lively cultural and social hub offering events, exhibitions and projects which attract visitors from all over the world.
