The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Mercy is a Marian sanctuary in a village near Savona called Santuario.

According to the legend, the sanctuary was founded following the appearance of the Madonna on 18 March 1536 to a local farmer called Antonio Botta.

The church contains some beautiful baroque works by artists including Borgianni, Domenichino and Bernardo Castello; the façade was designed by Taddeo Carlone di Rovio in the late-mannerist style and was completed in the early 1600s using a variety of different types of marble.

Every year on 18 March to mark the anniversary of the apparition the bishop leads a traditional procession through the village.
