Industry pioneer.

In 1840 he arrived in Italy following the French army, took over a bronze foundry located in via Orno and set up a modern cast iron foundry there, the first in Western Liguria.

About ten years later, Nicola Bartoli from Savona joined Bourniquez and the foundry expanded its field of action by also starting brass processing.

The foundry came to employ over 40 employees and stopped working in 1952.

Taken from "Filing cabinet of illustrious men in Savona" by Ernesto Baldassarre and Renato Bruno with the kind concession of the Savonese Society of Homeland History.
