Statesman and patriot, Savona 1838 – Roma 1932. 

He was a distinguished jurist, a talented historian and a profound connoisseur of national economic and financial issues.

Trained at the school of Quintino Sella, he was a deputy from Savona in 1870, then sitting constantly in the right center and turning his major political activity to the study and preparation of social reforms. 
Elected president of "DANTE ALIGHIERI" in 1907, he devoted most of his work to the work of awakening national sentiment.

Distinguished jurist, brilliant orator statesman of exceptional activity, five times minister for 62 years an authoritative member of the chamber and of the senate. He is considered the most eminent politician of Savona. 
On December 30, 1934, the memorial plaque was inaugurated in the house in Piazza della Maddalena where the distinguished statesman was born.
